Teacher Licensure Testing RequirementsConcordia MAT applicants are required to have taken and passed a Basic Skills test PRIOR to being admitted to the program. ONE of the following tests will fulfill the Basic Skills test requirement:
In addition, ALL applicants will need to submit passing scores to meet requirements set by the State of Oregon on the Elementary Education Test. Subtests I & II are required for licensure. Passing scores must be submitted before student teaching begins. The Protecting Student and Civil Rights in the Educational Environment test is required for licensure. Passing scores must be submitted before student teaching begins. Subject Specific Tests are required for applicants seeking a Middle Level and/or High School authorization level(s). Students may choose from endorsements in art, biology, business, chemistry, drama, health, general science, language arts, marketing, mathematics (basic or advanced), music, physical education, physics, social studies, Spanish, speech, and technology education (in conjunction with Concordia's Career & Technical Education program). The current Subject Specific Tests accepted by Oregon have recently changed. If you plan to teach in the state of Washington, you may be required to complete additional tests. It is recommended that applicants complete all tests prior to the first day of class. |
